A Children's Hearing is Scotland's unique system for protecting children and young people, through a decision making lay tribunal called the Children's Panel.

The Children's Hearing system can be daunting for those involved, particularly for the first time. The Children's Hearings (Scotland) Act 2011 provides a set of rules and guidelines that Children's Hearings must follow.

Black & Markie provide advice, assistance and legal representation to parents, children, and relevant persons before, during, and after children's hearings.  Legal aid is available for those who qualify, and we can help assess your eligibility for legal aid.
